A fever of five pygmy devilrays (aka longhorned pygmy devil ray, Mobula eregoodoo). With a max. wing-span of 1.3 m, these beautiful and endangered rays are the smaller relative of the majestic mantas. Often observed in schools of a dozen or more, they’re endemic to the Indian Ocean and central-west Pacific.

I particularly liked the composition of this little fever, showing off their playfulness and graceful movement. Led by the adventurous juveniles at the front, with the adults slowly catching up from behind.

Print is of an original, hand painted watercolour and ink illustration. Open edition.

Available sizes:

  • A5 (148 mm x 210 mm)
